It’s Contacto Directo’s 20th anniversary this year and they intend to celebrate it all year long.

The first event was held on CCB, the past 23th of February. Staff, current and former students were invited.

The concept of the party was simple, everyone dresses black and wears pieces they made. Bring a friend equally dressed with your pieces too.

Staff that doesn’t make jewelry wore something by the school’s director, Filomeno. Everyone had something to show.

So the result was a living exhibition, where you see all kind of jewelry walking around the room, hanging from it’s creator or friend with whom you could interact.

Next on schedule, the school is organizing a contest for it’s students, in which the theme is “Celebration”. The selected pieces will then be on tour through the country. The dead line is April 30th. (I personally don’t know if I can make it, since I’ll be out of the country for a whole month in between.)

Overall I think the school is doing a very nice job in promoting itself, and most importantly, contemporary jewelry in this country. The students benefit from it, for it gives them (us) some exposure.
